In 1993, Prof. dr. K. Michielsen received her Ph.D. degree from the University of Groningen, the Netherlands, for work on the simulation of strongly correlated electron systems.
Since 2009 she is the group leader of the research group Quantum Information Processing at the Jülich Supercomputing Centre, Forschungszentrum Jülich, Germany
and is also Professor Quantum Information Processing at RWTH Aachen University, Germany. Her current research interests include adiabatic quantum computation,
quantum statistical physics, computational electrodynamics and event-based simulation methods of quantum phenomena.
In 1976, Prof. dr. H. De Raedt received the Ph.D. degree from the University of Antwerp, Belgium, for work on magnetism in one dimension.
Since 1990 he is Professor of Computational Physics at the Department of Physics, University of Groningen (the Netherlands),
where he leads the Computational Physics group of the Zernike Institute for Advanced Materials.
His current research interests include computational electrodynamics, nanoscale magnetism, quantum statistical physics, and event-based simulation methods of quantum phenomena.
